Female period advice?

I haven't had my period yet and im almost 13. Am i a late bloomer? I so, is that bad? And please answer these questions along with any other perioud advice. (I know some of these questions are stupid but please be serious)

Do you only wear pads/tampons on the day that you usually get your period?

How do you know when you are going to get your first period? Like could it come out and leak out of your pants and cause embarrassment?

I don't think I would want to wear tampons are they sore? Sre pads better because I would feel more comfortable with them?

Please help Im kind of worried =[[[Female period advice?
If you are a normal healthy 13 year old female and have nearly reached your full height, you are at just the right age to begin having periods. You are not a late bloomer. My daughter's period didn't begin until she was 16, but she's nearly 6 feet tall and it took some extra time to grow those extra inches. Whatever the timing is for your body, is what is right and normal for you.

Many young women experience symptoms and bodily changes that indicate their periods will soon begin. Breast tenderness is one of them, another is a cramping feeling that kind of comes and goes, in your lower abdomen, some young women may also feel bloated, along with feeling up and down, emotionally. Some young women have a bit of nausea. Not everyone experiences these things though, so yes, sometimes a period can begin and ';leak out of your pants and cause embarrassment'; as you've asked in your question. Thankfully, this is rare. When your periods first begin happening, they often start light on the first day and get heavier for a day or so following, than lighten up again. A woman that has regular periods can generally feel the flow leaving her body and begins to recognize that feeling and then knows when to use a pad or a tampon.

If you are 13 and don't want to use tampons, then use pads. As you grow up and become familiar with the cycle of your periods you can decide then what you prefer to use. Once a woman is accustomed to how tampons are inserted, they do not hurt. It may take a couple of tries though to become comfortable with doing this.

Don't worry too much, it sounds like you are a normal young woman and your body knows what to do. It will eventually teach you how best to handle this universally female process.

I hope you have a friend, your mom, or an older sister, aunt, or grandmother to talk to. Some dad's are also very understanding and able to help their daughters with the changes that a young woman goes through during this time.

You are brave to ask the questions you need anwers to, best of luck to you as you approach this change in your life.Female period advice?
I started my period at 14. It can take up to 19. If it hasn't started by then you do need to see a doctor.

Wear what makes you comfortable. You'll need to wear a pad or tampons every day of your period until the flow stops. Tampons, change them every 4 to 6 hours, depending on the flow. Pads should be changed after going to the toilet because the exposure to air can cause odor.

From now on wear a panty shield daily. If you feel wetness, you can go check in the restroom. That way you won't have embarassing ';accidents.'; Carry a pad in your purse.
Hey.! Im a couple of years older than you and when i was your age i thought exactly the same.!

LIsten, Dont Worry if You're 13 and havent started yet.! Im almost 16 and only started a couple of months ago.! I was worried too that i was a 'late bloomer' Etc. But its nothing to worry about.!

Yes, you do only have to wear pads or tampons when you're on your period.! And they usually dont just last one day either.! They last up to about 7 days, but some people may only have it for two, it depends. I usually have mine for about Five days.

Some people say there are symptomes to know when you're about to start like craps, moods cravings etc but I personally had no idea that i was about the start when i did.! I was out for the day but i didn't realise till i got back that i had started.! Its not going to come streaming out, so dont worry about that.! It might just be a brown stain (I know it doesn't sound nice, but thats what it looks like.!) or there might be quite a lot of blood. But chances are it wont come leaking out when you first start.

I haven't yet used a tampon.! =o I dont really like the sound of them Lol.! But i will try them when im more comfortable, and thats what you should do too.! Pads aren't all too comfortable but they aren't too bad once you get used to it.!

Dont worry about this, there's nothing to be worried about.! Its not as bad as you may think.! Contact me if you have any other worries, Yer.?!

Hope that helped a bit.!

Much Luv.x
You are so not a late bloomer...chill it will come eventually

you wear them when you get it and keep wearing them till it goes(it will come back in a month) Keep pads or tampons with you, even when your not expecting it. Tampons are good if your sporty but pads are also comfy. Dont worry if once you get your period you sometimes miss out on your it every now and then it happens to everyone.

When your about to get your period you can feel tired and get cramp in your back and in you tummy. NO....it cant come out and leak through your trousers, just make sure you use a pad or tampon as soon as you discover some blood on your pants.

Tampons do NOT hurt so dont worry. But make sure you just dont wear on when your not having your period. Pads are also comfertable so any is fine....it's totaly up to you.

Dont worry too much everything will be fine.
you can get your period between 10-18 so id relax.

you may feel a bit bloated and may have stomach ache the day before your on, and your boobs may be a bit sore if you poke them.

i wouldnt worry, when you start you period the first day is fairly light, and usually you can see a small smudge of browny/red in your pants, then just put a pad in and you will be fine.

periods last between 4-8 days, 6-7 is average. and you have to wear pads/tampons all the time.

personally id stick to pads for a few periods, as tampons can be quite weird at first.

id talk to your mom or older female relative for all the details.

its all natural.

oh and btw i recommend you keep a pad in your school bag, incase you come on at school
Some girls don't get periods till they are 16 so I wouldn't worry too much. Why don't you ask your mum how old she was as sometimes you find you will start similar age to her (if she started earlier than you don't worry it isn't reliable).

You can wear either pads or tampons but personally I only wear tampons if going swimming. It is not sore to use them just some girls are not comfortable wearing them.

I didn't know I was going to start my period until it came but you may get cramps just before. You don't bleed enough to cause embarrassment, unless you tell people nobody will be able to tell. When you do don't be afraid to tell your parents, they won't be mad and there is no need to be embarrassed it is natural. Hope this helps
1. You're normal. Everyone develops at different times and gets their periods at different times. The average age of starting your period are ages 10-16. However, if you haven't gotten your period by the time you turn 16 then you should go to a gynecologist who can tell you what's up - you may have a hormonal problem.

2. You can wear a pantiliner (or a pad, if you prefer!) any day during the month when you are expecting your period. However, tampons should only be worn only when you are ON your period.

3. When girls first get their periods it comes out as a dark or light brown discharge instead of actual menstrual blood. Most girls actually don't even know they got their first periods because they think it's just a different color discharge. It is also too light to leak through clothes so it won't be embarassing. After your first 4-5 periods they will become redder and more of a liquid consistency when you WILL NEED protection or it WILL leak!

4. Tampons aren't sore. When inserted correctly, you shouldn't be able to feel your tampon inside of you at all. They're comfortabler than pads in my opinion. Just do whatever you prefer - some girls prefer pads over tampons, some girls prefer tampons over pads, and some girls prefer menstrual cups over tampons (like me!). Don't be worried - every girl goes through this during her lifetime! Best of luck!

^here's a website I think you will find very helpful! (:
1. Don't worry if you haven't had your period yet. Everyone's body is on a different schedule!

2. You will wear pads or tampons for the duration of your period. Some lucky women will have a period that lasts only three days. Others will have it for as long as seven.

3. Unfortunately, you will be surprised by your first period. After a while, you will start noticing the signs that it is coming. You might feel cramping a couple of days before. Keep track on the calendar and notice how many days apart they come. When you know it is coming, wear a panyliner just in case. That way you won't have an accident.

4. Tampons are difficult to put in when you are young. You may want to wait a few years for those. If you decide to use them, be assured that they don't hurt! If you put them in correctly you don't even feel them. It's a good idea to use a pantyliner with a tampon to prevent leaks.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
