I leave in a few short weeks and a little worried and confused and need a little help in the faith area. im just wishing i spent a little more time with God instead of friends. Please help.Prays/bible verses/advice for a future female soldier?

When you pray, don't worry about a set prayer just tell God of your:

- Problems and fears

- Things you want to thank him for

- I assume you'll want to ask him for protection

- Also ask him for the protection of loved ones

Take a look at the Lord's prayer - it's not just something to be recounted it is a guide of how to pray, setting out simple things to talk to God about, to thank and ask him for.

As far as bible verses go i don't really know what to advise, i assume you're allowed a bible, try getting a new one and reading through during down time - picking out verses you like. That'll help pass the time and also get you familiar with the whole text around the verse. By the time you're back you'll be able to recount those verses anytime.

As for advice, avoid bullets - they sting ;D

First of all, thank you for your service.

Don't regret taking some time to enjoy being with your friends before you leave. It is important to live in the present, meaning do what can be done now. Shortly, you will be away from your friends for potentially a very long time, so spend all the time you can with them. Remember that God will be with you always!

While I am a former Christian... now an Atheist/Agnostic... I hope what I said will be of some help!
Have good contact and communication with your chaplain and go to church services and get to know men and women of God. You will need that support. I was a military wife and my husband got so many offers to sin and to do wrong but you have to be a soldier also for God as well. See Ephesians 6 and see how you can equip yourself Spiritually and start a new network of encouraging men and women of good and godly influence. God bless you, love you in Christ.
There is a little book called 'Strength for Service' (1). Since WW2 it's the constant companion of soldiers, but also girl/boy scouts and others. I'm reading in it each day and it is quite good for your personal meditation.

Besides 'SfS', a bible can be your constant companion. Perhaps you'd like to spend some 15 minutes a day for your personal devotion. It helps a lot and gives you new strength.

For really bad situations I learned Psalm 91 by heart, so I can pray something encouraging when I feel the need to.

Relax God loves you. Sit down and talk to him. Get the eternity issue out of the way by thanking Jesus for dieing in your place. Ask him to go with you where ever you go. Ask him to be your friend, your master, your savior. as for the soldier part...Pray Psalm 91.

It's not too late. Get a KJV bible and get familiar with Psalms Proverbs and the gospels. I'm sure you will find somebody to help and encourage you when you are in. Keep your integrity no matter what, know that the Holy Spirit wants to have your whole self as He shows Jesus Christ to you. I'll keep you in my prayers and things will work out for you even better than you can imagine.

I have a really good prayer. Ask Jesus into your heart if you believe he died for you and admit you have sinned. A good verse is Psalm 27. It's about not being afraid. It will really help. Also a good pass-time is reading the Bible.

DWARF HAMSTERS ARE VERY SOCIAL CREATURES AND THEY CAN LIVE WITH OTHER DWARFS HAMSTERS AND THEY ACTUALLY ENJOY THE COMPANY. Um I don't think you should get a ';buddy'; for your hamster because they might fight. In PetCo. where I got my hamster I was going to buy 1 cage and put 2 in them but the employee suggested that I shouldn't because if you put 2 females together they will fight and kill each other. If you put 1 male and 1 female in one cage they will most likely fight or mate/make babies. Giving them a buddy isn't as safe but if you do buy a buddy for your hamster, make sure you watch them all the time. When you're not watching them I suggest you separate them.

You may not be able to introduce another now, but you can try.

A mate should come from the same litter/batch as they may end up fighting if you choose a different batch as the hamster you have got will not recognize the litter smell and class it as a intruder and there will be a death eventually
well it depends cus i got a hamster and i thought it would be ok to get a new 1 but in the end they just faught and my new 1 died
if she is young i would go for it its just when a hamster is about 5 or 6 months is when they fight and hurt each other just make sure you get the same kind because she might not get along with other kinds

I think the average cycle could be between 23-28 days so don't worry just yet. My cycle fluctuates often + or - 2 or 3 days, and stress can definately affect it.

Often a week before I get my period I get very emotional and sad for no reason, and it goes away after my period comes. Maybe you are sad because of your hormones/period coming?

I also get lower back pains almost every month a few days before I get my period so that may be a sign.

If your cycle is very regular, you are sexually active and you don't get your period after a week, go see your doctor.

If you just started getting it, it's still irregular. I got mine 8 days late once! You'll probably get it in a few days. And yes, if you're sad it will effect you.

Don't worry about it. It will eventually come. Worry and stressing about it can make it late. So just relax.

That child will live with that remembrance her whole life ! She will need counseling!!! This is something she will never get over ! There is no validation, his age is irrelevant. The only questions I have are : Was the man known to be a sex offender, or someone who was criminally dangerously insane or mentally ill? Was there neglect on the part of a person or persons (caretakers or the Justice System)responsible for keeping him from the public and/or children? Was the offender a family member and were the family aware of his mental problems and failed to protect their child?

Any man who rapes or sexually molests a child or any person who sexually assaults another person should get the death penalty IMO.

Giving her your jacket isn't really a big issue that you should question about. Just look at is as if your being there for her. Being best friends while being the opposite sex and flirting isn't really a huge problem but it could send mixed signals in the end. And even though you hate her boyfriend you should still be there for her because I mean if you're going to call yourself her best friend then you have to be one first. 1. I would say it's alright to do that but don't make it awkward. Just ask, ';Do you want mine?'; or something along those lines. Don't do it if her boyfriend is near.

I've struggled too with the short/long hair decision. People have told me that they like it both ways. Guys tend to say longer is sexier, but I think this thought should be forgotten! I think short hair is easier to maintain, especially for me because I have naturally very curly hair. I like short hair on girls... I think it grabs attention. In a way, I am tired of seeing girls with all the same haircut. It gets boring! I think you might do better with a different short hair style though, perhaps a cute bob. Well you sound like me. I did gymnastics for 9 years and after i quit i continued to exercise. Muscle has good memory and what i found i had to do was more toning exercises. Meaning lighter weights and more reps. As for my abs i had to stop doing crunches and do a resistant exercise instead. So the one where you lay on your back and lift your legs slightly as well as your torso so it creates that burn. This way its not working the muscles too much to build them rather keep them toned. Carbs also played a big part in it also, so i stopped eating them after 4pm. Now im 110lbs toned and not bulky. Its all about resistance instead of weight. Nobody can answer this question for you, only you can decide if you feel comfortable traveling alone. Traveling alone is hard weather or not you are a girl because you have to depend soley on yourself and it is hard to be on your gurad all the time (like draging your luggage to the bathroom with you). However, it is true that there are cetain difficulties that arise simply from being female.

I have traveled extensivly (around the world) both with male and female companions and by myself, and I find that the biggest problem when there are no males present is the constant stream of cat calling (or however they yell and harass females in each culture). This gets REALLY irritating after awhile, but you just have to ignore them and forget about the harassing. On a more serious note, sometimes things go a little further. I have personally been followed/more activly harassed a couple of times during my travels, but as long as you stay in semi-populated areas and know when to ask for help, you should be OK. Also, if you stay in hostels or other travel friendly places, you are likely to find people who you will travel around with for awhile (or only for the day), but you will find that you are not alone all the time.

Just remember to keep safe. Don't travel to extremly dangerous countries. Don't go to sketchy parts of town (espically at night). Keep your guard up, follow your instincts, and know that sometimes you will have to offend people. I have had both good and bad experiences traveling alone, but for me, it is worth it because you get to see the most amazing things in the world. I just got back from traveling around Europe and in a couple months I am headed to Africa (on my own), and while I plan on bringing mace this time, I am still very excited :)

If you are not into beach front properties then I would highly recommend the Old San Juan area. Your second choice, if beach front property is a priority, then Isla Verde would be your second choice. You will be approximately 8 minutes away from Old San Juan, or 8 minute drive. But I can assure you that you will have fun at either location.

My daughter was put on to some pretty harsh medication which is possibly unavoidable at first, although she has done a lot of research (particularly on the internet) and found a lot of answers, she regularly exercises, watches her diet, particularly low GI foods can help. this is a medical condition. you really need to talk to your doctor about leveling out your hormones, then get a preauthorization from your insurance company and they will pay for the laser hair removal. waxing, epilating...etc will give you ingrown hairs on your face and will always come back.
You should look into laser hair removal. Also talk to your doc - they should have advice or maybe prescribe something to help with the male hormones.
Talk to your doctor about it!

OK, I really liked this girl and we started talking recently. When I first started talking to her, she was kinda closed off. She was going out with someone. We had flirting going on here and there.

Depending on the situation. Girls are jealous, and I'm not a girl, but I have dated a lot of girls and they are always different in their own ways. Some things do not change. 1. Girls will ignore you. It's defiantly a good way to play, cause they have you turning over backwards asking questions. Like your doing now. 2. So, you have 2 choices. Call her and play into her game or ignore her. If she is not calling you then she doesn't have very much interest. If you ignore her for a few days she will probally call you. So me and a girl were talking through facebook email and then last monday I sent her a message and she never responded. At first I thought she didn't get it, but wednesday she text me being really nice asking about something I mentioned in the email. So she obviously read the email, but I said that I couldn't meet her that afternoon, but probably in the evening. I even mentioned in the email ';its a busy week, but I got you this wednesday and if not this wednesday next wednesday'; since she lives about 25 miles from me and I am not always there.

So I was free later that even on wednesday and I text her to meet and she said she was preparing to sleep so I said goodnight and she said goodnight, enjoy the night. That was the last time we spoke.

Um no offense but your details are as confusing as you must think she is. First of all in your details you mention she is sending mixed signals, but you sent mixed to her too.

If either of you are interested, you have to be more certain and specific about dates and times, then make it happen, not change plans at the last minute, or sound uncertain.

I'm not a female but from what I see here she is either insecure about men still or she is feeling pressured from you. Best thing to relax and stop worrying about it. Getting worked up over someone that you don't really have a relationship with in the first place just makes you look desperate. My first rule when getting to know someone is become friends first, if you can make a friendship work then it may be time to move on to trying for a relationship. I'm an eighteen year-old male who is decent looking, funny, smart, and has some money. I think I may have low self-confidence. I want a girlfriend but I think its impossible because I'm not good enough. When I've mentioned this a few times, to people really close to me, they say I'm being ridiculous. Up to about a year ago I had really bad acne and looked really ugly. Girls made fun of me.

Well, I'd say that if you are the only one that thinks that you can't find a girl, then you are probably wrong! It does sound like you have low self-confidence and a lack of confidence though, and I am sure that some things that happened to you in your past caused you to feel that way. But that was in your past, and you are different now and can make a decision not to still feel that way. Maybe you need to spend more time focusing on your positive attributes and less time on trying to get a girlfriend, and it will just happen. Make a list of all the good things about you and keep adding to it and reviewing it several times a day, especially right before you go to bed.

Don't judge all girls by the behavoir of one - but maybe also review your behavoir. I'm not assuming you did this - but what some guys think is acting ';sweet'; I usually find patronising. (Plus, again I'm not saying you did this, but if she worked out you thought she wasn't hot and had miniscule breasts that would not have worked in your favour).

It's very hard for girls to tell what guys think when he's acting shy and awkward because it's not a stereotype you associate with men - not men you think are cute, anyway. If you retreat, they'll assume you're not interested. So you might have to fake at least confidence and friendliness, even if you can't get as far as flirtation. And at the very least, talk to her casually.Then let her do the flirting for a bit unitl you get more confident with it.
