Need some female advice please?

I am in a tough situation maybe you can lead me in the right direction. I was extremely close friends with this girl and then we started dating. We stopped because she said she needed to be single. I found out she came out of a 5 year relationship before hand. I know she still has feelings for her ex, but she tells people she will never go back and it ended very badly. We got into a huge fight about ';us'; the other day and now my friendship with her is in jeopardy. When we were fighting I asked her to ';tell me that it is over for good'; if thats how she feels. She had a tough time saying that, but finally said she doesnt think we are right for each other. I flat out love this girl and I really though she did love me. Is it possible she does love me and can't admit her feeling because of the ex or is it 100% over and I should not look back. I am mature enough to know when I'm in love and I really was. Should I give up hope or let it cool down and see what happens in the future...?Need some female advice please?
that's pretty sweet...and sad at the same time! don't take her word for it.... when girls say one thing, they normally mean the exact opposite. more than likely she's just having a tough time with her previous break-up...after all... 5 years is a really long time. she most likely has feelings for you like you do for her but is afraid to let herself get emotionally attached at the same time... and she's maybe even considering that she doesn't want you to also get hurt in the process. Don't give up! but at the same time... give her some space, and some time. she deserves some time to get her emotions together. but let her know you're there for her and that you'll always be. remind her that you'll stick by her side no matter what and be a true friend!Need some female advice please?
let her cool down. try to approach her after. same thing happened to me. me and one of my best friends started dating then after we broke up it was awkward but we just started talking and now we are getting really close. and what we did was just avoid eachother for awhile and one day we became best friends. but give her space for now.
