Cosplay ideas for 5'2 Black Female? Advice for first time Cosplayer (pics)?

I'm 5'2, between slim and average weight and a medium Carmel complexion. any ideas of characters I could pull off?


Also, this will be my first time cosplaying so..any advice?

You could defiantly be Yoruichi from Bleach. Her costume is pretty simple and would be good for a first time cosplayer, and your skin color and would be fitting for her.


For advice, I'd say don't try and do anything too wacky. Carrying around swords and what not is very annoying after awhile. the only two people with darker skin that I can think of are Rose from Full Metal Alchemist and Yoruichi Shihouin from Bleach. they are both really awesome!!! and so many people will know who you are.


Rose is the easiest. she just has an off-white dress and sandals, but she has pink in the front of her hair. but that's easy, too, you can just get some clip-in hair pieces or spraypaint/ temorarily dye it.


Yoruichi is harder, but it looks really awesome! the most well-known way to dress like her is to do her usual outfit. black leggings, and an orange v-neck shirt over a black long-sleeve shirt. the other white stripey things on her shirt can be white masking tape. I can't really tell what shoes she wears, lol, but if you can find a good picture of her, then yay!
