I know how girls my age are always complaining about their bodies and everything but its hard not to compare oneself to what the media says is attractive.
So, I'm about 5'3'; and I weigh somewhere between 95-100 lbs. I know I'm not obese or really anywhere near there but I wish I could be more around 90 lbs. And I think my thighs are too fat also. So I don't eat much and often skip meals. I don't feel hungry though so its not as if I'm harming myself. I also exercise. This has become my lifestyle and I never feel crappy or anything. The problem for me is that I'm not losing weight. And the bigger problem is that this bothers me so much.
I see these anorexic stars on television and in magazines and while most people are saying ';Ew, that's disgusting'; or ';That's so sad';, I'm wishing I could look like that and I'm mad at myself for not having the will-power to become like them.
I scare myself though. I know that isn't right. I know I shouldn't envy their sickly figures but I really do. I need help but I really, really don't want to gain any weight or anything.
I don't know what to do.
Could a female who has this issue currently or used to have it but overcame it please answer. I'm sorry I don't have a specific question. I just need advice...
And people, please don't make fun of me. I know this sounds ridiculous. Being a jerk won't make me less neurotic.Female's advice about body issues?
Honestly, you are right, you are being COMPLETELY redonkulous. You do not need to loose any weight. You should EAT! You are not fat. You weight is perfect, and not only that you are SKINNY! Stop skipping meals, keep exercising to be healthy, and stop wanting to loose weight. Even comparing yourself to the ';media'; you aren't fat. Also, everyone thinks that they have fat thighs. You know what? Nobody does. If every ones thighs were as big as their calf's, it would just look WEIRD. So, stop worrying and start living your life and not caring about what people think about you. So many people in this world would kill to be as skinny and thin as you, and loosing any additional weight isn't necessary, needed, or recommended. So stop worrying!!!!Female's advice about body issues?
90 sounds great. I'm 5'6'; and 102 lb.
i feel the same. you sound really skinny tho. like im 5'5'' and last time i checked my weight (which was february 2008 :P) i was like around 113 lbs but ive been on a diet since then and ive lost loads of weight. what ive been doin is i usally have like a small bowl of cereal b4 skewl or else i jus skip breakfast then i dont eat in skewl which is over at 4 then i have dinner and i try not to eat to much then after that. but dont try that coz it doesnt work that only made me eat more because i got soo hungry during skewl that id scoff when i came home. now i try do at least 30 mins on the excercise bike and i usually dont eat that much just try to drink alot ha. totally off thrack here i dont really no what you want to hear so i just talked about my own life sorry :)
first of all this is not a healthy thing to be doing to you body at all! secondly you aren't losing and weight because when you skip meals and what not when you do eat your body will store as much as it can from the food that you eat because your body needs the energy and by you not eating your body isn't getting the needed energy. You should try talking to your doctor and finding a healthy way to loose weight not that you need to you are more then likely below a healthy weight for your age and height.
Oh sweetie I wish I could give you a hug! I'm 28 and I still deal with these issues - so trust me, unless you can snap out of it and gain some confidence, this will always be something that will own you. It's a horrible feeling to compare yourself to others... and it only gets harder as you get older.
In the past year, I've figured out how to lose weight myself. Step 1: EAT. Skipping meals isn't going to help you; in fact, it will only make you gain more weight when you do eat. Your body needs so many nutrients and calories/day so when you skip a meal, your body holds as much fat as possible at your next meal to get it through until your next meal. Step 2: Go see a nutritionist. They're expensive, but I think it's something you would really get a lot of use from. They will help figure out a good meal plan for you, and will keep you healthy. Step 3: Eat healthy. When you skip breakfast/lunch, then eat supper and have a big dessert, your body stores the dessert fats. So eat a healthy breakfast (granola %26amp; yogurt), have a snack at 10am (carrots/peas), a good lunch (salad/veggies/fruit/etc), a snack at 2:30pm (granola bar or some grapes) then a healthy supper. If you crave sweets, pick 1 day/week you want them - like Friday.
Stay healthy and keep working out. Just another note: if you keep working out but not eating, you're really not doing anything for yourself - you're only making your body more tired and sick.
Good luck!
