Enjoy.Taking Hol to Southern Turkey, female students any advice regarding health safety etc?
Hi there.

No specific jabs needed, the advice about the water is very good - stick to bottled. It is safer than most places, take the same precautions as a night out in Britain - stay as a group, don't get drunk alone, if you do sleep with someone use a condom. Sadly, you will be following in the footsteps of some very rough British people who have set a very low tone, so you may need to be firm in establishing that you are NOT like them - just like the rest of the Med, really. Just do it and don't feel bad, the locals are nice people and understand.

Mostly though, enjoy! It is a fantastic place.

Good luck, Steve.Taking Hol to Southern Turkey, female students any advice regarding health safety etc?
dont get drunk and do disrespectful things to the locals.i saw many British getting drunk and doing very nasty stuff in front of turkish families. like drunk English men show their bums or drunk English women striptease.dont do that.
I've been to Southern Turkey and it's a fantastic place. You don't need to have any kind of jabs/injections, but, you can get them from your local GP if you want to be extra cautious. Most definitely don't drink the tap water out there, our bodies are not used to it and it could make you pretty ill. Always drink bottled water and try to avoid ice cubes in drinks, as again, they will most likely have been made with tape water. As a final tip, I'm sure you're well aware, the sun can be pretty powerful over there at that time of year, so always invest in a good sun hat and some decent suntan lotion. Have a fab time! x
You need to have your jabs firstly, don't drink the water only bottled stuff even brush ur teeth with the bottled stuff
Before you go: if visiting anywere past alanya there is a risk of malaria and you need to have a 2 week corse of tabs before you go,For all parts of turkey hepatitas jabs are recommended.

Do not drink turkish tap water if you arnt used to it it will upset your belly so buy bottled.

As you would anywere be aware stay togeather with someone or always have someone know were you are.

Around 35% of female lone tourists get raped while in turkey many caused by teasing these men then not giving the goods and you end up followed and raped.

Eat were all the turkish people eat is a simple but much needed rule to follow turkey is popular for its turkish trotts(bad stomach) so if the turks arnt eating there you dont either.
The same has anywhere else try not to be alone in strange places and even in a group don't wander about in backstreets at night. As others have said don't drink water or have ice in drinks they will say it is bottled but it isn't always.I wouldn't use local water for brushing teeth as mains water is okay but most hotels are not on mains.Every Turkish man you meet will tell you he is in love with you .If you are hassled by people trying to get you into restaurants just say you have eaten and carry on walking don't take up invitation to read menus or have free drink.Generally I think you'll have a great time I did and have come back for 23years the last time 4 years ago when I moved here .
Noooo...u don't need any vaccinations to go on holiday to Turkey, I'm moving to southern turkey in May and if anything it improves health immensly! Just be careful in terms of holiay flings...the usual stuff really! HAVE FUN!!!!!

You do not need jabs to go to turkey...u can brush your teeth in the water but don't swallow...make sure u drink bottled water.
YEAH! Don't trust the men - liars, cheats, will say anything to get you into bed - they don't care if you catch the clap - Don't go out alone - don't get in a cab alone - don't leave your drinks unattended -
