I put them in a 20 gallon tank. How do I know that the female is pregnant? And what do I do afterwards?I just bought 2 female %26amp; 1 male guppies. I wanna start breeding them...any tips/advice?
'AKUKA L' is wrong they do not lay eggs,
The female will get very fat and have a dark spot above her anal fin. They are usualy pregnant every 4 weeks, Or i should say the give birth every four weeks, You can buy breeding traps to put the females in and the babys fall threw and collect in the trap, If you let them just have them in the tank the bigger guppies WILL eat them (if they catch them) If you are going to let them have them in the tank then make sure you have lots of hiding spaces, Plants etc, To feed the fry (baby fish) You can buy baby brine shrimp (bbs) this is best to feed them but its not essential, Crushed up flakes are fine,(powderd). The fry will fully mature at 6 months of age, And they can start breeding at 4 weeks old. (i think you should get more tanks because you will be run down by guppies), And to keep them healthy just have good water quality, Even if there is no male guppie pregnant the female can have up to 6 batches of guppies, (as they can store sprem).
Ask your local pet/fish store if they will buy or take them as you will run out of tanks,
Hope this helps. Any further questions email if you want. (ally_s_91@msn.comI just bought 2 female %26amp; 1 male guppies. I wanna start breeding them...any tips/advice?

http://aquariumhobbyist.com/guppies/preg鈥?/a> = a site that has a piture and info about female guppies and pregnancy.
You should put them in there own tank for a little bit. The female will have a little dot. She will give birth to20-40 fry. Feed them crumbled flakes and tiny live and frozen foods. To reduce the risk of larger tankmateseating the young, add floating plants.
The female dosent get pregnent like humans and mammels, they egglay. One thing that you want to do is probaly use another private tank after the two spawn and move the adults to a differnt tank for they might eat the fry(childern/eggs) up. I dont think their should be gravel either and use aliqiud feeder for the fry. You should probaly use that brine shrimp stuff for them after a while. Don't use a powerhead for they might get sucked up inside and oh... that would be devestating. Most likely, the eggs, out of all that they layed, only a few will survive.
get more male and female guppy
when the female is pregnent the get VERY FAT!!! lol and when it is fat put her in a smaller tank 2 gallon or a half gallon are fine for the babys to grow up in untill the 3/4 of an inch take out the female after shes had the babys cuase she will eat them
